Anyone know of a children's book involving a quilt?

I only have vague memories of this book, but I’ve been trying to find it for years. I’m 21 and read it in elementary school in the early 90s. I remember the cover had a girl on it, and I believe a quilt or a blanket of some sort. The story was about the girl and her quilt/blanket and I remember the book being "sad" at the time. Any ideas??
Those are all great suggestions, but none seem to be the book I’m looking for.

I remember the cover being dark… blues and grays and such, if that helps any.

Suggest popular Picture Books of the early 1990s?

I’m trying to find a list of picture books that were popular when I went to school in the early 1990s.

1. I’ve already looked at all the Caldecott winners and nominees.

2. I already have the following authors covered: Tomie dePaola, Eric A. Kimmel, Mercer Meyer, Chris Van Allsburg, Maurice Sendak

3. I already have: The Patchwork Quilt, The Empty Pot, Pinkerton, Behave!, The Doorbell Rang, Elijah’s Angel, Alexander and the terrible horrible…, Tiki Tiki Tembo, Ira Sleeps Over, The Napping House, Mrs. Katz and Tush, The Relatives Came, King Bidgood, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, How much is a Million, Paper Crane, Wilfrid Gordon …, If you Give a Mouse a Cookie, Miss Nelson is Missing, Not so Fast Songololo, Jimmy’s Boa, and some other obvious ones

4. I’m really interested in picture books with good artwork.

Can anyone suggest any popular ones that I don’t have yet?

I feel like I’m forgetting a lot of really good ones, maybe not so well known?

(kind of a challenge huh?!)
