awesome!
Thank you for the excellent tutorial on bindings. I am a beginner and finally finished binding my first quilt block. Fine video!
Thanks for a very clearly explained tutorial. I am completing my first quilt for a new grandbaby and I am so insecure. Your video has made it doable. Thanks Mona C
Really helpful – thanks so much!
Very well put together video, thanks! I did find one area in the tutorial, though, that was lacking instructions. I believe that the instructor should have mentioned that the strip of fabric for the binding should be cut on the bias (45 degree angle). Other than that, a truly wonderful video!
Thank you for this tips. I am about to start the binding of my second quilting project. Your tutorial is great. Why does it have to be cut in the bias?
God bless you!
Hi Kat…
The only time you really have to cut your binding on the bias is when you are doing curves like scallops. I generally just straight cut my binding. I hope this helps!
Thank you Jenny, it sure helped.
That’s good news!

thank you thank you thank you! binding freaks me out and this looked so easy! I will def try it out on the three quilts I have to make within 2 months! my first quilts and I have bitten off a lot!
thanks for your easy tutorials!!!
this was the BEST! Thank you for posting!
me encantan estos videos pues me estimulan mucho, la verdad s que no entiendo el ingles, me gustaría como a muchos que los tradujeran para el deleite de muchos, gracias.
Oh my goodness, this was the best tutorial on binding ever! My first and only quilt was a doll quilt for my daughter that I made almost two years ago. It was sooo easy…til I got to the binding. Other tutorials were so confusing, I just never finished it, nor started another. This makes it look simple! Thanks so much for this video. Your others are great, too. I’m finishing that quilt this weekend!
I really love your tutorials! I do have a question/comment though…it would have been really great to see how the corners came out and how you did them! That’s what I think I’m going to have trouble with….any information would be greatly appreciated…keep those tutorials coming!!!
I agree that you should have shown the corners folded out and why on earth didn’t you show us how to join the binding ends where they meet?!
Hi Nancat, I show the binding ends meeting on the tutorial using the binding tool and also the tutorial for the beginning quilting series! Check them out! and enjoy! Thanks for your comments, Jenny
Great tutorial!! But what I really want to know is who designed that quilt behind you, and who is the fabric designer?? I love it!
@quiltycanuck ,
The quilt is designed by us using yardage. It is a nine -patch block paired with an hour glass block. The yardage is mostly Deb Strain. She has a new line out called Cherish Nature where she uses a lot of those same teals and browns! I am glad you like it. Thanks for your comments. Jenny
@jennydoan57 Thanks Jenny for the response! Could this quilt be made with precuts?
@quiltycanuck
The quilt can be made with precuts. We made a pattern called altered squares, using 2 layer cakes and cutting 1 layer cake into a four patch and 1 layer cake into an hour glass. It gives the same look and when you cut layer cakes, if you use the same number of seams they will come out the same size. You can see it on the blog…I think! You can also make a nine patch using a layer cake but you will end up trimming one block to be the same size as the other. Jenny
@jennydoan57 Thanks so much again Jenny, one last question..the yardage that you used for that top, what is the name of the line? I think I will buy some cherish Nature but I also like some of the prints in the quilt behind you as well.
Thanks so much again for your help!!
@quiltycanuck I think it is called daydreams.
The easiest tutorial yet! Thank you!
I have seen this before and still Love it! It is so easy to do thisand it looks sooo good!!!! Thanks Jenny
